Transformation Tuesday

Gosh, is it only Tuesday?

Check out The Biggest Loser winner Danni! Incredible transformation!

She wasn’t my favorite, but I’m happy for her. What a great accomplishment.

Transformation Tuesday

Check out Kenna!

Wow! She went from 210 pounds to 129 using P90X after gaining 80 pounds while being pregnant with her son. She had the same mentality I personally had: that if you exercised while pregnant, you might hurt the baby (highly untrue). Because of this, she was left with a huge amount of weight to lose and had a hard time performing daily tasks.

She turned to P90X for help and lost all 80 pounds of her pregnancy weight gain. She says that “anyone can be successful with the proper mindset” and that “our minds are our most powerful tool”. So true!

Incredible work! What an inspiration to us all.

Happy Tuesday!

Happy New Year!

Here’s a great transformation to start off this new year.

Meet Elizabeth.

Elizabeth was at a comfortable weight until she got pregnant and gained 90 pounds. She thought, like so many of us, that she would step on the scale after having her baby and the weight would be all gone. Instead, she weighed in over 200 pounds and wasn’t happy.

After her daughter was born, her husband was deployed for 12 months. She decided she wanted to get in shape for him when he returned. She began by running a mile, which gradually increase to two, even three miles. After three months, she lost about 40 pounds and began lifting weights at a local gym with torn out pages from Oxygen magazine.

She started eating clean, even purchasing cookbooks to keep things fresh. She eats six small, protein packed meals a day and drinks a lot of water.

Elizabeth says it took her 11 months and three weeks to reach her goal, so you have to keep at it. And, she did everything without the help of a nutritionist because money was tight- proof that anyone can do it if you’re motivated enough!

Her tips for aspiring transformers? Surround yourself with positive people with similar goals as you. Keep away from negative people. Focus on your goals and write everything down. Take regular progress pictures. Don’t rely only on the scale. And finally, know that anybody can change!

Great work, Elizabeth! What an inspiration!

Transformation Tuesday

I’ve got a great transformation for you today!

This is Anna.

Anna was tired of being overweight. She finally got motivated to start exercising and cleaned up her diet once she realized she wasn’t the athletic person she thought herself to be and that her extra weight was holding her back. She sought the help of an on-line personal trainer and began exercising slowly.

She began eating higher protein and lower carb meals and the weight started coming off. She even noticed that her cheat meals left her feeling lethargic, a feat I think we’d all like to accomplish!

Anna’s suggestions for others like her? Find what you like to do for exercise. Find buddies to keep you accountable. Understand that slip-ups happen. Find support, like an online coach. Repeat a mantra in your head for inspiration.

Way to go, Anna!

Meet Karina.

Karina didn’t have a life-altering event or sudden overnight revelation that she needed to lose weight. After being overweight most of her life, she kind of accepted that was how her body was going to look. It wasn’t until after she got sick and lost about 10 pounds in one week because of it that she realized she was happier at a lower weight and wanted to change.

She started like most people do: calorie reduction. She says she was consuming no more than 1,000 calories a day (very unsafe, DON’T DO THIS!) and the weight came off slowly and then stalled. To pick it back up, she knew she had to consume more calories with the right kinds of foods to lose weight the right way. She was also strictly cardio with her workouts, but it wasn’t giving her the results she wanted. After a male friend suggested she start lifting weights, she began to notice the positive changes in her body that she was craving.

After finally finding the program that was tailored to fit herself, the changes began, and wow! She says the best thing to know about finding the right diet and exercise combination is that there is no “one size fits all or cookie cutter program.” You have to find what works for you.

Karina’s best advice? Don’t give up! The “magic doesn’t happen overnight, it takes time.”

Well, you can bet I’m listening!

Transformation Tuesday

I love finding and reading all these success stories! It gets me incredibly motivated and very excited to work out. Today, I browsed some stories of women doing the workout program Turbofire (the program I do) and found a lady that has a similar story to my own. Her name is Kelly.

Kelly says she was overweight as a child and tried everything from diet pills to starvation to lose weight. By the time she was 25, she’d gained and lost the same 50 pounds more than 5 times, never finding a solution and continuing to hate the reflection she saw in the mirror. After she had her daughter, she knew something had to change because she didn’t want her daughter growing up thinking it was normal to hate your body.

Kelly turned to Turbofire with hope and trust that finally starting and sticking to a program, not crash dieting, would give her serious, lifetime results. And it has! Kelly has lost over 100 pounds and 8 dress sizes. Best of all, she says her daughter now asks her when they are going to work out!

Way to go, Mama! You look fabulous!
